Car ManiaThis activity allows children's interests and play to go into a piece of artwork you can keep forever. By providing children with toy cars and trays of paint they can roll the cars through the colours then onto the paper, combining their imaginations with creativity. This activity can help develop their fine and gross motor skills whilst they are having fun and getting messy! As the adult you can provide them with the coloured paints of your choice and ensure they have a large area to work on (paper, cardboard, etc.). To add to this activity you could even draw outlines of a road using a black pen for the cars to follow so that the children's hand eye co-ordination can be developed. The cars can be easily cleaned at the end of the activity by washing them in hot water using washing up liquid.

Junk Modelling GeniusJunk modelling allows children to create masterpieces using only the resources that are going to be thrown away. This activity gives children the opportunity to create whatever they would like to using cardboard, plastic, foil, etc giving them the chance to explore different materials and use their senses to learn. Whilst glue or tape will be needed to make these masterpieces the rest of the resources can be found around the house. Children's physical development is targeted heavily during this activity as they can use their large muscle movements to move the different objects into the desired places making their imagination a reality.

Creative ElephantsThis activity allows children to use their creativity and imagination simply using household items. This activity can be done on a table, in the garden, on the floor, on a tray. The resources used for this activity are milk bottles, glue, paint, newspaper, coloured paper, tissue paper, flowers, these resources can be changed to whichever resources your child would like to decorate the bottle with. It is simple to do, you cut the milk bottle just after where the handle starts and cut out a small arch to make it look like legs. The children can help with this process with support from an adult. The children can then decorate the bottle in whatever way they like to create an outcome that they want. This activity promotes children’s fine and gross motor skills, these are the small (fine) and large (gross) muscle movements. Children will have the freedom of expression through this activity, allowing them to choose their decoration resources, colours etc. Children can also use their language to describe what they are doing, what colours they may be using or why they have chosen to do something in a certain way.
