This is a fun creative and imaginative play activity for children aged 3-8-years-old. An old toothbrush is a great tool when painting to add a flick effect to a painting. This is achieved from dipping the bristles into paint and then using your finger to flick the paint. This activity is most effective for children aged 6-8-years-old. Old brushes can be made into a wind charm, by tying string individually around each brush (ensure that each brush will hang at different heights), then either tying them all together at the top or by securing then to a old jar lid to keep them from tangling up. Create animals using the bristles of old brushes. You can create animals by removing the bristle end of the brushes and gluing them into the shape of the chosen animal then just draw or stick on the faces, a hedgehog is a great animal to make! This is a good activity for children aged 6-8-years-old.

Balloons
Balloons can be part filled with water and then tided to some string in the garden for children to use a stick and try and pop them. This will keep them cool in warm weather and is a fun way to develop strength and co-ordination. This is a good activity for children aged 5-7-years-old. Balloons can be filled with a range of materials such as rice, cotton, water, paper or flour then tided up. This is a good sensory activity for babies and one that older children may also take an interest in. A simple science investigate with a balloon, water and static is rubbing a balloon on clothing then placing next to running water and watch the water be attracted to the balloon. This is a good activity for children aged 5-8-years-old. Balloons can be used for races by taping or securing them to an old CD, blowing them up then placing them on the floor and let the balloon release the air and travel along a flat surface.
